Welcome back to school everybody. How lovely it was to see all the children…and staff… shiny and smart for the new school year.
Thank you to all families for making this happen. There have been some uniform issues with Moonline the uniform supplier regarding the logo but we are hoping to resolve this. We have had a great start with children settling well. Mrs Barlow and Mrs Worrall are delighted with the new starters in the EYFS.
Mrs Bradford will not be returning to school after her absence last term. We wish her all the best and thank her for the work that she has done at St Mary Magdalene’s.
We do have two new members of staff who have already been in school last term. Miss Anderson is teaching Year 4 and Mrs Sharkey is teaching Year 3 and is covering the Maternity Leave for Miss Taylor.
We started the School Year praying for those families that have had a difficult and challenging time over the summer holidays. This is not only in our own school community but also Ightenhill Primary School and the wider community. The staff have been very industrious over the summer break and the Inset days preparing for the start of term. We are waiting to hear when the building project will commence. In the meantime, Year 2 have settled into the Active Learning Zone and we have had to shift equipment and resources into corridors. However, this has not impacted on the teaching and learning and positive attitude around school.
I apologise for the large quantity of letters and texts that you have received this week. There is a lot of information to communicate at the beginning of the year. The Welcome Meetings for each class have been arranged so please try to make sure that you attend as this is a good opportunity to meet your child’s teaching team and find out about the classroom expectations for your child.
