Butterflies Class EYFS Reception 2024-25
Welcome to EYFS, where we love to learn through play, explorating and investigation!
Our Class Teacher is Miss Rafique
Mrs Barlow, Mrs Ridgeway and Mrs Bottomley also support us with our learning.
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
The Reception is an exciting time where our children are nurtured and encouraged to become independent and enthused about learning and the world around us. Building and developing parent relations are at the heart of what we do. As parents, you are your child’s first and most important educator and so during the year, we will work together to ensure your child develops a love for learning and grows to secure strong foundations in their learning journey. We are passionate about developing an effective parent partnership. In our class setting, we provide a nurtured and engaging environment for the children to flourish in. Faith is intertwined in all that we do, and we celebrate our challenges, differences and talents each day. We encourage our Butterflies to understand they are all individually unique and loved in class and by our school family.
We provide a nurturing, accessible, and engaging learning environment that meets the needs of every child. We encourage our children to recognise how special they are, being made in the image and likeness of God. Every day, we celebrate their challenges, differences, and talents, helping them to grow in confidence and self-awareness.
Each child is a unique individual, and as we come to know our wonderful Butterflies, we weave their interests into the learning opportunities provided. Our indoor and outdoor classrooms offer a range of continuous provision areas where children can explore, discover, and thrive in a space designed to inspire curiosity and creativity.
Our goal is to support every child's development—spiritually, emotionally, and academically—while fostering a love of learning that will stay with them throughout their lives.

Writing
Mastering the correct pencil grip is very important in order for your child to develop a comfortable position to allow writing to flow freely. It is important to take time to show your child how to hold their pencil correctly each time they begin to write at home. See the link below.
