Year 6 Visitor

Early this term, Year 6 had the privilege of listening to Paul, who came and shared his stories of his adventures from around the world. Starting with Mount Kilimanjaro in 2003 and along with Everest, which he did in 2007, Paul has also reached the top of Elbrus in Russia, Aconcagua in South America, Mount McKinley in North America, Carstensz Pyramid in Indonesia and his final summit, Mount Vinson in Antarctica.

The children had chance to ask questions, looked at his climbing equipment and act out some of the techniques he used on his expeditions. Paul explained to the children that it took a high amount of courage, resilience and dedication to achieve all of his climbs. He was an inspiration to the children and they all engaged well.
