Family support/wellbeing

Welcome to the Family Support / Welbeing page.

Miss Emma Zollner is St Mary Magdalene's Pastoral Manager.

At St Mary Magdalene's Primary School we recognise that education is about more than academics. We are committed to supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of our pupils, their families and staff.

We know everyone experiences life challenges that can make us vulnerable at times and anyone may need additional emotional support. Our Pastoral Manager has had extensive training in order to best support the children in our care. External support is sometimes required and families will be supported by school.

If you wish to discuss any support for yourself or your family, please get in touch with Miss. Zollner at school (ezollner@st-marymagdalenesrc.lancs.sch.uk)

Early Help Offer

Early help (sometimes referred to as ‘early intervention’) services are provided by local authorities. The type of support on offer can vary a lot. Many services will provide information and advice to support families. This can be offered in a one-to-one setting or as part of a group. They may also help families find solutions to specific problems.

Within school we offer a programme of support to promote positive wellbeing and provide support for our children. This programme allows our children to boost their self-confidence, learn healthy coping skills for life challenges, develop strong social skills and explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours in a safe and supportive environment.

Some of these include:

Support can also be offered, should you need some further additional support as family – this can be discussed and explored with the school’s Pastoral team.
