Year 3

'Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things.' - Philippians, 4:8.

In Year 3, our class identity is 'The Wonderers'. Our class teacher is Mrs Peano and our teaching assistant is Mrs Cooper. Children in Year 3 will be encouraged to ask lots of questions in class and for home learning so that we can become ‘active thinkers’.  They will be inspired to share the questions that make them wonder ‘how, why or what if?’ about their learning. Throughout the year, we will wonder about many topics: The Stone Age, Volcanoes, Myths, Forces and Magnets, Promises, Structures, and Spreadsheets to name but a few.

We have already enjoyed the class novel 'Forgotten Tales of Kindness and Courage' and we will soon move on to reading an assortment of stories from the Bible and other faith texts
 
Our current RE unit is Lent: Giving All. We consider giving, as well as giving-up, to identify with the complete self-offering of Jesus which is remembered in the liturgy of Holy Week and the Easter Triduum.

Prayer and Reflection

Lord, when I am hungry give me someone to feed;

When I am thirsty, give water for their thirst.

When a burden weighs upon me, lay upon my shoulders the burden of my fellows.

Lord, when I stand greatly in need of tenderness, give me someone who yearns for love.
