During Autumn 2 and Spring 1 the children were learning all about animals in science, the different groups as well as their diets. In English we were looking at non-fiction texts and their features with the overall objective to produce our own non-fiction text. We decided to link our science with our English topic by creating a non-fiction text about how to look after bearded dragons. It just so happened that Miss Hoyle had a bearded dragon called Percy. Percy came to visit us in class which provided us with real life context we could put into our texts. We loved it!
