Dear Parents
Please find copies of the spellings for both Red and Blue Groups below. The children will be told which group they are in on the first day back and will be given an opportunity to practise them. A paper copy will be stuck in their Homework Book for them to take home on the first day. All children will work on the Red Group age-related spelling patterns in class so they don’t miss out on the Year 3 expectations. Some children will also have an opportunity to work on their own Blue Group spelling list which covers spelling patterns they have yet to master from the previous year.
Spellings are completed for the whole half term – including the first week back of the next half term. Spelling tests are completed every Friday. If children have their Homework Book in school on the Friday they can record their score and make a mark next to the words they have misspelt so they can continue to practise them.
